About Alena Goldman, LMHC-D

Becoming a therapist has never been just a career choice for me. It is both my passion and my calling. I help clients transform the patterns that keep them feeling stuck into a life that feels more hopeful, connected, and their own.

WHY I DO THIS WORK

Science, Empathy, and a Deep Respect for Change

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Baruch College and a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from NYU. Curiosity about the connection between the mind and body led me to further study in the Fundamentals of Neuroscience at Harvard University. That foundation matters to me because it lets me bring professional knowledge and compassion into the same room. My work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change is possible, especially when people are met with care, clarity, and room to understand themselves differently.

A practice built around real, lasting support

Whole-person support

My work brings together evidence-based care, empathy, and an understanding of how the mind and body shape one another.

Bilingual & bicultural care

Born and raised in Vladivostok, I offer counseling in both English and Russian so clients can feel understood in the language and cultural context that feels most natural.

No one-size-fits-all care

I draw from CBT, mindfulness-based DBT, solution-focused, strength-based, somatic, hypnosis, and coaching approaches—always tailored to your goals.

What I stand for

I stand for a supportive, non-judgmental space where people can build self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their inner strengths.

What Does Golden Mindset Mean?

At its core, Golden Mindset represents the transformative power of the mind. It reflects the understanding that our thoughts, beliefs, and subconscious patterns shape the way we experience life. The mind is not limited to conscious thinking—it holds our psychology, focus of attention, and deeper subconscious material such as unprocessed emotions, internalized beliefs, and developmental or cultural conditioning. These internal layers influence our choices, behaviors, relationships, and the way we perceive ourselves and the world.

When these patterns remain unexamined, they can limit our potential, cloud our intuition, and keep us stuck in disempowering cycles. However, when meaningful change occurs in the mind, it naturally begins to reflect in our outer world. Shifting the internal lens leads to healthier relationships, clearer choices, and a more empowered, purpose-driven way of living.

The word Golden symbolizes sunshine, positivity, radiance, hope, self-empowerment, and inner light. These are the core values of the Golden Mindset philosophy. It is about helping individuals reconnect with their inner strength, develop new meaning, and move beyond disempowering self-talk. Through insight, clarity, and mindset transformation, clients begin to find solutions, shift their internal narrative, and reignite a sense of hope and possibility.

Golden Mindset is about reclaiming the power of your inner world so your outer world can transform in alignment with who you truly are.
